The Metrocrest Association For Family Child Care

The Metrocrest Association for Family Child Care is a professional organization of family child care providers who are listed, registered, or licensed through the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services and who live in the Carrollton, Farmers Branch, Addison and Coppell areas. All members are required to have current certification in CPR and First Aid and a minimum of 20 hours of child care related training. If you are a provider looking for an organization to join for training and networking, please call our president, BJ Cadwalader, for more information at 972-416-7394 or e-mail her at crosbykids6@aol.com. If you are a parent looking for home child care or want more information about the benefits of family child care, please call our referral chairman, Mary Brulet, at 972-306-6838 or e-mail her at mafcc@verizon.net.

As providers, we believe that a quality family child care home provides:

  • Lower number of children in care...
  • One provider with a maximum of 6 children under the age of 5 for registered homes and a maximum of 12 children under 5 for licensed homes with up to 2-3 caregivers.
  • Child-centered care...
  • Ability to offer individual attention to meet the specific needs of your child.
  • Continuity of care...
  • Reliable and consistent care from a primary caregiver and additional support from assistant caregivers for some family child care homes.
  • Partnership with parents...
  • Parents and provider form a partnership that promotes the healthy development of each child.
  • Home and family environment...
  • Helps children solve problems, express ideas, and learn about the real world-crucial skills in preparing for school and life.
